The Sufi Psychology Association is composed of people from myriad faiths, nations, ethnic and racial backgrounds who are all strongly characterized by a desire to know, a wish to learn. Our seeking of truth led a number of us who are in the helping professions, each in our own individual way, to discover the teachings of Hazrat Salaheddin Ali Nader Angha, Pir of Maktab Tarighat Oveyssi Shahmaghsoudi, School of Islamic Sufism“. We remain his students today. Hazrat Pir teaches a Sufi Psychology that is reflected in the name of the Sufi Psychology Association journal: Sufism, Science of the Soul. Those of us who have been lucky enough to study under him have experienced profound positive changes in our own hearts and souls, which are reflected in our emotions, our thoughts, and our behavior. We learned it is possible to live a life of love, free from fears. Each of us discovered and began to develop creative personal talents. We learned far more than we could possibly have imagined, and are still learning. Naturally, we began to share the beneficial methods and techniques we had learned with our clients and patients. In order to share these teachings with a broader audience, in 1996, a small group of physicians, psychologists and therapists, who had both personally experienced positive personal change and utilized the teachings in our professional life to benefit others, founded the Sufi Psychology Association. The basic purpose of the Sufi Psychology Association is educational: that is, to share the expansive body of developmental knowledge and techniques taught by Hazrat Salaheddin Ali Nader Angha, Pir Oveyssi, so that all who sincerely seek knowledge may reach their maximum potential and help to create a peaceful and harmonious society. Publications, research, workshops, meetings, retreats and conferences, all aimed toward this purpose, are sponsored by the Sufi Psychology Association. Membership is open to all who wish to join the organization. The Sufi Psychology Association is a non-profit, tax-exempt 501 (c 3) charitable organization which is staffed entirely by volunteers. No one receives any compensation for their contributions to the organization. Website: www.sufipsychology.org E-mail Address: sufipsy@att.net
